How to Pick Your First Affiliate Offer
Your first offer matters more than your first funnel, your first email, or your first ad. A great email can't save a bad offer — but a good offer converts even mediocre emails. Here's the five-point checklist.
One: low ticket, $7 to $50. Cheap decisions happen fast; expensive ones need trust you haven't built yet. You're asking strangers for money — make it an easy yes.
Two: recurring or backend. A monthly subscription pays you again every month. One sale can pay for months. This is how a single commission becomes actual income instead of a nice story.
Three: a proven sales page. You are not the copywriter — the offer's page must sell without you. Clear headline, real testimonials, a guarantee, a buy button you can find in five seconds. If the page confuses you, it'll confuse your clicks.
Four: you understand it. If you can't explain the offer in two sentences, don't promote it. Confused promoters write confused emails, and confused readers don't buy.
Five: it pays reliably. Established program, real company, on-time payouts. Search "[offer name] payout problems" before committing — ten minutes of research now saves months of wasted effort.
What to avoid: the brand-new launch with no track record (you're the guinea pig), the $997 high-ticket offer (save it for when your list trusts you), anything in a niche that bores you (you'll quit writing about it by week two), and anything you'd be embarrassed to put your name on.
Score 2–3 candidates 0–5 on this checklist. Promote the winner for 90 days. The offer isn't permanent — but the commitment is.
